where to begin....well I guess its good to say... the Marley's were dead to begin with... lol jk... but that kinda rolls into my story...a few days ago my roommate Cassidy and I decided to have a Christmas kick off party after thanksgiving since our house looks all cute and decorated. So we invited a couple of girls from the ward and I invited a couple from my class. Well my friend Bethany came over early to work on our huge policy paper and she stayed to watch the movies. So we had a couple other girls show up, we watched The Muppet Christmas Carrol ( get the Marley joke now? lol) and we had some goodies and talked. After everyone left, Cass and I cleaned up then Cass went to bed and Bethany and I kept on doing out paper. She went upstairs to use my bathroom and was gone for a really really long time.... i started to wonder if she feel asleep on the toilet or something so I grabbed a stack of movies and went up stairs. the bathroom was empty ... i was like hu? where did she go? so I look in my room and I see Bethany knocked out on my bed hahah! she woke up when I came in and said I just wanted to feel it and then i didn't want to get up ....lol I laughed and went back down stairs. Then at 2 am I decided to come upstairs and do my paper because i felt bad keeping all the lights on down stairs. Bethany is still knocked out cold on my bed ( it is really comfy i can see why she didn't want to get out of it ) so i put on toy story 3 and keep working on my paper and i let her sleep. SO finally like 130 rolls around Bethany is still asleep and toy story is over. I out my stuff away and Bethany wakes up. I told her you can stay if you want but I'm gonna sleep in my bed so scoot over lol she was like yeah i should go back to home ( she didnt wanna sleep with me i guess hahah!). so I go to help her get her stuff and from the big wind in our loft i can see this thick blanket of snow and its coming down HARD! it looked sooooo pretty! right now we have more snow than I have ever seen in my life! everything is covered! no green!
so I told Bethany ohmigosh we have to go play in it! I'm gonna grab my shoes and my camera! So we go out and play in the snow at like 3 30 am! haha who does that?.... me :) now that is utah mayhem and madness!....but wait theres more !) so we threw some someballs took some pics and i mde another snow angel.
so I'm making a snow angel and totally geeking out over the snow ( silly Californian hahah) but finally my toes are getting cold ( i wore flip flops and didn't bring gloves cuz we were only gonna take a few pictures and i didn't wanna put my snow boots on). so I say bye to Bethany and reach for the door..... but its locked! I totally accidentally locked myself out .... AGAIN! this is now the 3rd time I have done this! i need to get a freakin hide a key! hahaha.... Bethany is so sweet she stayed with me while I went to the other side of the house to knock on cassidys window. Her light was on so I was hoping she was awake. I was so scared that she was going to be mad at me because she has told me several time how she is soooo scared of sleeping on the bottom floor cuz people could just break into her window. So as im knocking on the window I'm like oh crap I'm probably scaring her sooo much! finally i see movement but she isnt even looking out the window so i figured she was scared so i said Cass its melaney! hey cassits melaney ... so she wouldnt be scared of me. Then i heard Cass say melaney would you come down here please? I was sooo confused! I thought ok maybe she thinks this is all a dream so i turned to Bethanyy and she said well looks like ull be sleeping on my couch tonight.... lol i said man i may have to take you up on that! I knocked again harder and yelled my name louder and I saw Cass flip back over in her bed. I told Bethany great she probably called the cops on me! hahah it was so cold it was like 4 am by now i had been in the snow in my flip flops for like 30 mins and i was ready to give up but then.So i knocked 1 more time and said my name loud. This time Cass gout out of bed and opened her door so Bethany and i went to the front door thinking she was going to go open it. When we got to the door she wasn't there. i was like what the heck where did she go? so Bethany said just ring the door bell. I was like no that would REALLY freak her out! so i knocked on the front door and I see Cass come down the stairs and she is kinda of laughing. She opened up the door and all i could say was ohmigsoh Cass I'm soooo sorry! she starts cracking up then Bethany and i start cracking up. oh man i havent laughed that hard in a long time. we must have laughed for like 15 mins straight! she told me what was going through her head and we were dieing! So Bethany gets in her car to go home and i make some hot chocolate for me and cass and we are still laughing
THEN i hear this small knock on the door Cass looks at me like umm this is weird cuz you are here now so who the heck is that? I go answer the door and its Bethany. she said "I'm stuck". i was like oh man! so you have to stay over here? she said no, I'm stuck ina ditch and I need a push! i thought she meant like she was snowed in! hahaha so Cass puts on her shoes and GRABS HER KEYS ... and we are all laughing as we cross the yard. I look at Bethany's car and it really was in a ditch ahah! Utah has these like 2 foot deep gutters for draining the snow in and somehow Bethany car got stuck in it. So, Cass and i went over to the car and pushed Bethany's car out of the ditch at 4 in the morning!
hahah then we decided to go inside drink or coco, have a good laugh and blog about this random night lol.... om man... the things i do to play in the snow! now please tell me that doesn't qualify as mayhem and madness? lol! yeah i dont know who let Bethany and i in to grad school but apparently it is a requirement to be a little off your rocker to be a Social Work student hahah!
Ok I thought it would be funny for you to get to read what was going through cassidys head... poor thing! lol:
So at 4 am this morning I wake up to pounding on my window. I had fallen asleep with my light on so I was thinking that some person was just joking around trying to scare me. I couldn’t move out of my bed because fear had taken over. This person continued to strike at my window. I finally had the courage to pick up my cell phone to call my sweet roommate Melaney to have her come down and do the the thing I feared most which was to open the blinds. I called Melaney and she didn’t answer. But, she starts talking to me through the vent above. She started to say “Cass this Melaney”. I continued to talk to her through the heating vent asking her to come downstairs, but she still wouldn’t pick up her phone. I was a little bugged so I decided to be brave and move myself from my bed. So I went quietly upstairs and on my way upstairs I realized the front room light was on and I did find that a little weird. I got to Melaney’s room and the door was open, but no Melaney. I happened to look over at the big window upstairs and I noticed all this snow coming down. The fear that I had began to go away and a thought came to my mind “Perhaps the person knocking at the window is my”. I ran back downstairs to look at the door for the answer I needed. I realized that one of our locks (deadbolt) was unlocked, but the bottom lock was still locked. All the pieces started coming together and I realized this sick person striking at my window was my California roommate who continues to forget to switch the bottom lock over when she goes outside without her key. I ran to my window open my blinds, but no Melaney!! I didn’t know how this girl was going to survive without her snow boots. I ran to the front door and there she stands with sweet little smile and “sorry”!! I have to say that a few choice words came out of my mouth, but I did start laughing!!! We ended the night by going outside with a key this time and moving her friend Bethany’s car out of the ditch it was stuck in!! The things that happen when you get a roommate from California!!!
